Job Summary:
The QC Inspector will be responsible for the thorough inspection of incoming promotional products and also special inspection tasks when needed to ensure they meet our quality standards, specifications, and regulatory compliance requirements, before sending them for production process and/or distributing to your clients.
This position will be proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese, enabling effective communication with our internal teams and overseas vendors to maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Review: Verify and review product specifications, test reports, and quality certificates to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Defect Identification: Identify, document, and report any defects or non-conformities in the products. Provide detailed reports and feedback to suppliers for corrective actions.
- Quality Assurance Protocols: Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures for inspecting products. Update inspection processes and criteria based on product changes or new quality standards.
- Incoming Product Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of all incoming shipments of promotional products to ensure compliance, quality standards, and specifications are met.
- Issue Reporting: Identify and document product quality issues and non-conformances, and report these findings to QC management and relevant departments.
- Supplier Communication: Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding quality expectations, specific issues, and improvements in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to understand their manufacturing processes and to provide feedback on quality issues and potential improvements.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions. Ensure that all documentation meets compliance and traceability requirements.
- Sample Management: Manage and track product samples from suppliers to ensure they represent the final product quality and meet client specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and quality standards based on trends in product quality issues.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and that safe working practices are followed during inspections.
- Corrective Actions: Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to develop corrective action plans and ensure timely resolution of product issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes and supplier performance.
- Compliance Monitoring: Keep up-to-date with industry quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the promotional products industry.
- Sample Management: Manage and organize product samples for testing and reference; coordinate with external testing labs as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor degree or certification in Quality Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a quality control role, preferably in the promotional products or consumer goods industry.
- Language: Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese required; due to interaction with internal teams and overseas suppliers.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and understanding of quality systems and compliance requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal team members. Accuracy in documenting inspection results and reports.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with quality management software is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The role requires working in both office and warehouse environments.
- Frequent interaction with production and samples which may require handling of various materials and products.
- May require occasional travel for quality audits or training purposes.
